“I have been training with Tony Tran for six years. Here are a few facts before I begin:
My age: 47. Background: ten years of pro sport in Russia running long distances of 8 to 15 miles. Two years of Soviet Army on the Ukraine National Army sports team, took second place in trail running for the USSR military national competition in 1984. Current activities: skiing, swimming, yoga. Injury: herniated disk L4, L5, S1, laparoscopic surgery in 2007, tendonitis in both knees (2008 – present). So you get the picture.
When I met Tony, I thought I knew everything; what could a 32-year-old guy possibly teach me, right? WRONG! “I’ve been training with Tony since January 2016. I have had personal trainers before, but from the beginning I noticed he was different. First, he asked me about my goals, and listened carefully to what I told him. He did a very thorough assessment. Based on the assessment, he suggested a training approach that would both help me achieve my goals and address additional things I needed, such as bringing my posture back into proper body alignment. The training program he designed for me has yielded outstanding results in just a few months, and he pushes me to keep raising the bar so the results keep coming.
Tony’s approach to personal training is based on communication, customization, and continuous improvement. I appreciate that he sometimes sends me texts to encourage and motivate me. He is fully present and focused on training me hard during our sessions. He makes sure I am doing exercises in perfect form, and makes adjustments in my workout program when necessary (like telling me it’s okay to take a rest) so I can come back even stronger. I also appreciate Tony’s commitment to his own professional development as a trainer—my workouts get even better after he’s learned something new.
