1. What is your fitness background and experience?
I have been surrounded by fitness my entire life. My dad was a bodybuilder and had me working out at a young age. I also grew up playing sports, primarily baseball up to the collegiate level. Because I was so active as a kid, I constantly found myself in physical therapy.
This led to an interest in the field and I developed a passion to help others recover from the same injuries that I have gone through. I worked in a physical therapy clinic while I was getting my Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology, with a concentration in Exercise Science from California State University, Fullerton. I decided to become a personal trainer because I not only wanted to focus on injury rehabilitation, but I also wanted to focus on injury prevention, performance, and strength and conditioning. I started my personal training career at 24 Hour Fitness before coming to Formula Fitness where I have been able to
take my knowledge to the next level.
2.What is your fitness philosophy or training approach?
My training approach is to help clients make health and fitness apart of their every day lives. I help my clients create healthy habits and improve on areas such as nutrition, strength, mobility, balance, and quality of sleep while helping them transform their bodies through a sustainable approach that can lead to results that last while eliminating burn out and plateaus.
3.What are your specific areas of expertise within fitness?
My specific areas of expertise within fitness include Strength Training, High Intensity Interval Training, Injury Rehabilitation, Sports Performance, and Nutrition.
4. Can you share a success story or memorable client achievement you've been a part of?
In December of 2022 I met my client Daniel for the first time. Before coming to me he had developed many unhealthy habits and was not confident in his body. I began to educate Daniel on areas such as nutrition and exercise and we created a sustainable plan he was able to follow. Although Daniel only met with me 2x a week,
I gave him the tools to succeed and after 6 months of hard work and dedication he lost 57.4 pounds and dropped 16.3% body fat, all while building muscle, improving flexibility and improving his mental health. Daniel was in the best shape of his life and a completely new person and confident in his own skin. Clients like Daniel are my motivation and the reason I wake up every day excited to go to work.
5. What sets you apart as a trainer?
What sets me apart as a trainer is my ability to adapt to each clients needs, whether that’s modifying exercises, adapting to different learning styles, managing varying goals, balancing client preferences
and responding to feedback by active listening. My extensive knowledge accompanied with my unwavering passion for health and fitness helps me inspire and empower my clients to reach heights they
never thought was possible.
The knowledge I have obtained through my kinesiology degree, the hands on experience I have gathered from working in a physical therapy clinic and fitness facilities, and my
personal experience of working out extensively my entire life, has helped me rehab and prevent injuries in clients through corrective exercises, build muscle and drop body fat in clients, and improve overall quality of life in hundreds of people.
6. What are your personal fitness interests or hobbies outside of work?
My hobbies outside of work include baseball and football, kayaking and paddleboarding, taking my German Shepard on hikes, biking, and my newfound interest of participating in spartan races.
