DWAYNE FELLS

COACH

1. What is your fitness background and experience?

I have been a fitness coach for about 7 years, but have been intertwined with health and physical development for over 20 years.

2.What is your fitness philosophy or training approach?

My approach and application of particular training methods are what sets me apart. I combine many aspects to create a program that’s changing along with my clientele’s developments. A constant challenge with consistent benefits. Aside from the physical benefits of being active, we have all the control and abilities to create what we believe to be “fit/healthy.” Fitness isn’t a “one size fits all” approach and shouldn’t be treated as such. My approach is about discovering what it is that each individual wants to achieve physically and building on the habits it takes to achieve that success.

3.What are your specific areas of expertise within fitness?

My areas of expertise are Strength Training, Bodybuilding, Athletic Development (sport-specific), Weight management, Calisthenics, boxing/kickboxing, and functional movements/ correctives.

4. Can you share a success story or memorable client achievement you've been a part of?

One of my most memorable clients is a gentleman who before coming to me, was involved in a motorcycle accident that caused him to be immobile in multiple areas, leading him to gain a lot of weight and struggle with pain and confidence within his abilities.

In ONE YEAR of working with me, his mobility returned, he was now pain-free from his sustained injuries from the crash. He became stronger than he ever was (including his younger days), he shed 116 lbs, but most importantly, he got his life back and the confidence to go along with it. He’s now extremely active and it’s safe to say fitness is a part of his lifestyle.

I was honored to be able to share his story and be a spark in his change and growth, and it serves as a constant reminder to keep me inspired both in and out of fitness.

5. What sets you apart as a trainer?

My sports background and experience in different physical aspects are what sets me apart. By personally putting myself through the wringer to experience what my clients do, allows me to relate on an empathetic level. From recovering from injuries that required surgery, to excessive weight loss, to building muscle, strength, endurance, and expanding on knowledge as it pertains to my personal growth. The journey to constantly work on yourself never ends. I try to be a testament of always trying to improve in whatever aspect I find of value and encourage others to do the same.

6. What are your personal fitness interests or hobbies outside of work?

I love working out and learning new movements that will shake up my routines. Outside of fitness, I enjoy cooking/baking, reading, anything artistic, gaming, and spending time with the family.
