1. What is your fitness background and experience?
Fitness has been an integral part of my life. In 2016, following my own successful weight loss journey, I transitioned into a role as a Fitness Coach in 2017. I commenced my training career at a compact boutique gym, where I garnered substantial experience working with diverse clients in a group environment, encompassing various ages, backgrounds, limitations, and injuries with primary focus on Functional and Strength training during group sessions.
2. What is your fitness philosophy or training approach?
My fitness strategy centers on enhancing general physical function and performance in everyday tasks. I frequently include compound movements and exercises that replicate real-life actions. I tailor my training approach to match my clients’ individual goals, preferences, and physical abilities. I firmly believe that strength training is essential for individuals of all ages and gender, as it prioritizes muscle development and increased physical power. Additionally, my preferred cardiovascular workout is HIIT, which I integrate into training sessions. This involves brief bursts of intense exercise followed by short rest periods to enhance clients’ cardiovascular fitness.
3. What are your specific areas of expertise within fitness?
My areas of expertise are Functional Training, Strength & Condition Training, TRX training, as well as Group Training.
4. Can you share a success story or memorable client achievement you've been a part of?
I take pride in having assisted numerous individuals over the years. Two of my clients successfully achieved a remarkable weight loss of 60 pounds each, greatly enhancing their well-being and self-confidence. Another client, whose aspiration was to perform an unassisted pull-up, achieved that goal. Additionally, I’ve had the privilege of participating alongside clients in their first 5k races, mud runs, and Spartan races. All of these accomplishments were the direct result of their unwavering dedication and hard work, and I am happy to have played a role in their transformative journeys.
5. What sets you apart as a trainer?
What distinguishes me as a trainer is my strong sense of empathy, unwavering belief in my clients’ capabilities, and my dedication to making the workout experience enjoyable and engaging. I am NASM certified in Personal Training. I have since continued my education and received certificates in Corrective Exercise and TRX training.
6. What are your personal fitness interests or hobbies outside of work?
Beyond my gym activities, I enjoy pursuits like cooking, and, I’ll humorously admit, a bit of shopping (haha). I also engage in occasional wood refinishing projects as a creative outlet. There is a saying “do what you love and you will never work a day in your life.” That’s how I feel, I love this industry! I look forward to sharing my knowledge and this playground we call the gym with you.
